About

Affirm is a financial technology company founded in 2012 by PayPal co-founder Max Levchin and headquartered in San Francisco. The company's mission is to deliver honest financial products that improve lives. Affirm offers buy-now-pay-later installment loans at the point of sale, allowing consumers to split purchases into manageable payments without late fees, hidden fees, or compounding interest.

Affirm partners with merchants across e-commerce and in-store channels, integrating flexible payment options at checkout via payment links, self-checkout kiosks, digital wallets, and the Affirm Card. The company went public on the Nasdaq in January 2021 under the ticker symbol AFRM.

Affirm's engineering team builds large-scale, fault-tolerant global infrastructure using Python, Kotlin, Java, Go, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, gRPC, and React. The company maintains an active open-source presence on GitHub.
